Together they highlight that the UK is run for the benefit of a ruling incompetent bafoon strata of people and the mass of the people suffer in many ways as a result.

Kevin Cahills book, Who Owns Britain, reveals the propaganda machine that insists we are “concreting over the countryside” and “urban sprawl” – when nothing could
be further from the truth. This cramming of the population into 7.5% of the land mass created an artificial land shortage ramping up land prices to the point that 2/3 of the value of UK homes is the value of the land.

It is a startling expose of Britain's most valuable asset - its land. Kevin Cahill's investigations reveal how the 6,000 or so landowners - mostly aristocrats, but also large institutions and the Crown - own about 40 million acres [the UK has 60 million in total], two thirds of the country, and have maintained their grip on the land right throughout the 20th century. The book argues that our present system of landownership is of material detriment to the vast majority of homeowners in the UK, imposing taxes on homeowners while many of the wealthiest landowners in the country pay no rates and actually receive money in the form of grants and subsidies for owning land. Paid for by us.

This 'Common Land' was systematically stolen from the people of the UK. To benefit a few at the top.

We live in a feudal society. And we need real radical change. Which will only come through real struggle.
During the 1846 Enclosures acts, and for centuries beforehand, Parliamentary Landlords, [or MP's,] stole over 8 million acres, of Common Land, even committing horrific murder on commoners who dared to complain.

And with the Bank Bailouts, the theft continues............The Banks are holding vast Landbanks and properties at reserve prices which nobody can pay.
Which means the Banks can keep generating and paying themselves fictitous bonuses based upon Falsified "profits" instead of writing down losses. Its Blatant False Accounting.
Why doesnt the Government make the Banks, declare the real 'mark to market' valuations of their property and land portfolios?
The Government complains about the lack of affordable housing, yet you let the Banks withhold the potential housing stock!

Once again They are pushing us into choosing Slavery or Anarchy.

Re: Hands Off Our Land: the 300,000 new homes already 'in the bank'

.

No.

At the PRESENT rate it is more than two years' worth and planning permissions lapse if not used or updated.

Stop trying to post misleading info.

In addition, the developers have vast tracts of land which they can apply for permission on.

All the way back to 1996 affordability levels. Back to the long term affordability as a proportion of income. 3x salary/

Can the scumbag politicians then explain to us why they purposefully manipulated them to rise by 300% in a decade?

Forcing us to work for nothing for over ten years? As Slaves. Whilst ignoring us, their constituents, and making hundreds of thousands of pounds in personal profits, under a secret expenses system, on taxpayer funded second homes, by voting on policies to inflate the housing bubble.

There was never any political will to assist the average person earning average wage, to afford 'private property.' Something they can work and pay for. A cornerstone of a democracy. We are just human cattle to them.

Whilst we were forced to waste tens upon tens of thousands in rent, as house prices rose year after year.
Paying Rent To a minimum wage 'liar loan' landlord who was somehow able to borrow enough to buy fifteen houses, fraudulently, from a bank, which assisted this fraud en masse, and a government who are now stealing my money, to pay these bankers back. In effect, my money is being stolen, to pay to keep the abnks assets, other peoples houses massively overpriced, ensuring I stay as a slave?

You may as well walk into someones house and rob them.

Because that's exactly what they have done to us.

They have caused immense social damage. Immense.
A direct consequence of Government Sponsored Bank Fraud and theft

And these parliamentarians seem to think a couple of 'Woops! Sorry's!' Will clear it all up.

----------------------------------------------------------------

A tiny minority exploits Britain at the expense of the rest of us.

Just 6,000 or so landowners -- mostly aristocrats, but also large
institutions and the Crown -- own about two thirds of the UK. They have maintained their grip on the land right throughout the 20th century.

Just 1,252 of them own about 60% of Scotland.

[They pay no land tax. Instead the government gives them £2.3 billion a year and the EU gives them a further £2 billion. In subsidies.]

The poor are forced to subsidise the super rich.
[Via over ten million homes paying Council Tax]

Less than 8% of the UK is developed.

The scarcity of Land is a myth. Agriculture only accounts for 3% of the economy.

In the UK 70% of the land is owned by 1% of the population.

60 million people live in 24 million "dwellings". These 24 million dwellings sit on just 7.7% of the land.

[Government Population statistics are innacurate. There are likely up to 80 Million people in the UK. Subsequent decades of political
mismanagement, have brought more people in, and crammed them into what little space we have.]

Of these 24 million dwellings, an ever increasing percentage are owned by private landlords, because a housing bubble was purposefully inflated, and a 'debt transfer' took place.

As of 2001 landbanks to a value of 37 billion pounds were known to
exist, with capacity to build an additional 3-4 million homes.

This reserved land is almost wholly owned by aristocrats; with none of it on the land registry.

[This land is coming out of subsidised rural estates, land held by off-shore trusts and companies, and effectively untaxed.]

Shares have to be registered; but land doesn't. The Land Registry still DOES NOT KNOW who owns between 30% and 50% of land in the UK.

86 years after the creation of the Land Registry, up to 50% of the land in England is still not registered.

Landowners' wealth is a parasite on Britain. Their wealth comes not from farming, nor even from renting, but from a trickling of land onto the urban housing market.

The clearing banks and building societies stripped our industries of
investment capital, then supported their clients, the landowners, by
running the rigged and overpriced land market.

In the UK 70% of the land is owned by 1% of the population.

A statistic from a Banana Republic, or a third world dictatorship.

The main function of our entire political system is to support centuries of theft and criminality. From the Normans, to the 16,17,18th Centuries [1846 enclosures act] stealing of Land from Commoners. [By Parliamentary Landlords]

Its been like this for Centuries. Democracy is a big lie.
We are a feudal society in the UK.

The more I learn about my Country, the more I realise Anarchy seems to be the only solution.

Get rid of the State.

Re: Hands Off Our Land: the 300,000 new homes already 'in the bank'

Let me see if I understand this correctly:

Planning reform will lead to the whole of southern England being covered in houses, but not to the construction of any new houses.

Is that it?

Re: Hands Off Our Land: the 300,000 new homes already 'in the bank'

.

As far as I know it is a free-for-all - anyone may join in.

Developers and local builders will have the advantage of "knowing the system" - but SOME planning consultants and architects are already advertising their "services" in getting things done. No doubt if you KNOW (really know) how the Council's plan is written the more likely it is that you will get your application through easily - many less experienced people (private or professional) may very well ignore restrictions or requirements. This lack of knowledge is the real reason for the delays to applications. A "proper" application usually goes through quite quickly.

This will mean a torrent of applications will start when the guidelines come into effect an that Local Councils will be somewhat overwhelmed. The outlook for the land is BAD.

That is because they are NOT making the new rules for ordinary people, but for the very rich.

Look up "McMansion" in wikipedia (or similar) - these are eyesores that have sprung up in parts of the US ( I saw mine in Pennsylvania ) where a farmer sells of some land adjacent to a road into (to us) quite large packages (say 1 acre) and the developer puts one house (i.e. "footballer mansion" in our terms).

This means that you have a sort of ribbon development of awful houses lining the roads ruining the countryside.

NOW, who thinks that is a good idea ? (Apart from "footballers" that is ).
